Terms of use and disclaimer

Education only
The information on this website, in the articles and in the free guides is general education. It is not counseling, therapy, diagnosis, or medical advice, and it may not fit your situation. Please talk with a licensed professional about your own situation or your child's.
No counseling relationship
Reading this website, downloading a guide, joining a list, or emailing me does not make me your counselor. A counseling relationship starts only after an intake and a signed consent, through the practice where I see clients, under supervision.
My training status
I am a counselor intern completing my master's degree. I am not licensed yet, and I counsel only under the supervision of a licensed clinician. I will update this website when my status changes.
Accuracy
I work hard to keep everything clear, accurate, and up to date, and I review it with care. Still, mistakes can happen and information can change. If you see something that looks wrong, please email [email protected] and I will correct it.
Emergencies
This website and its email inbox are not monitored for emergencies. In a crisis, call or text 988 (press 2 for Spanish, or text AYUDA) or call 911.
Other websites and phone lines
I link to other organizations and support lines to help you. I do not control them and I am not responsible for their content, services, or availability.
Free guides
You may print and share the free guides for personal, school, church, or community use, at no cost. Please do not sell them, change them, or remove my name.
Limits of responsibility
To the extent allowed by law, I am not responsible for decisions or actions you take based on the information on this website. You use it at your own discretion.
Changes and law
I may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina.
