About me

I grew up in Venezuela, lived in Peru, and now call Waxhaw, North Carolina home. Spanish is my first language. I'm a wife and a mom, so I know how full and tiring family life can be.

I know that asking for help can feel hard. That is why I want to be someone who listens without judging, the kind of counselor people feel safe with.

In many families and cultures, including mine, counseling is seen as something only for people with "serious problems," or something to be ashamed of. I want to help change that. Counseling is for anyone who wants to feel better, heal, and grow.

What guides my work

  • Honesty

    Being real, consistent, and present.

  • Empathy

Listening to understand, not to judge.

  • Respect

For your culture, your family, your beliefs, and your pace.

  • Advocacy

Helping close the gap when language or culture keeps people from care.

My approach

I use an integrative, trauma-informed approach, and you set the pace. Person-Centered Therapy is the base: I listen closely and without judgment, so you feel safe, heard, and respected. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps us see how thoughts, feelings, and actions connect, and build skills you can use every day. Family-of-origin work looks at the family you grew up in and the patterns you carry from it, so you can keep what helps and change what does not. With couples I use a practical, skills-based approach focused on communication, boundaries, and repair. With young children I use play therapy techniques, and I look at the whole family, not just one person. My role is to notice patterns and help you turn goals into small, manageable steps.

Faith

My faith in Christ is an important part of my life. It gives me hope and strength. If faith matters to you, you are welcome to bring it into our work. If it does not, I fully respect that. Your beliefs and your goals lead the way.
